Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 August 2026
M5CS.org is a passion project: a community-maintained registry that catalogs BMW M5 CS (F90) production chassis, tracks how many are known to exist, and follows cars as they come to market. It is run by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.
These terms are short on purpose. By using M5CS.org (the "Site"), you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
Who we are, and who we aren't
M5CS.org is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by BMW AG, BMW M GmbH, BMW of North America, or any BMW dealer or distributor. "BMW", "M5", "M5 CS", and related marks belong to their respective owners and are used here only to describe the vehicles the registry catalogs.
We are also not a seller, dealer, auction house, or licensed vehicle broker. Listings shown on the Site are pointers to third-party sales elsewhere on the internet.
The registry is best-effort, not gospel
Registry data comes from owners, enthusiasts, public auction records, dealer listings, and other public sources. Some entries are verified against documentation; many are not, and the Site labels them accordingly. Production totals for the M5 CS were never officially published, so any total shown here is an estimate.
The Site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Do not rely on the Site as the sole basis for a purchase, sale, valuation, insurance, or authentication decision. Verify VINs, history, condition, and provenance independently — with the seller, a qualified inspector, BMW, and the relevant title or registration authority — before any money changes hands.
Contributing information
You may send us chassis information, photos, corrections, or sighting details by email. When you do:
- You confirm you have the right to share what you send, including any photos.
- You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store that information and publish it as part of the registry, including in aggregate statistics.
- Please don't send us information about a car that isn't yours if it would expose someone's identity — we're cataloging chassis, not people. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle this.
We are not obliged to publish, keep, or verify anything you send, and we may edit or remove entries at our discretion.
Removal requests
If you own a car in the registry and want its entry removed or amended, send us a note using the contact form below and we'll handle it. We'd rather have a smaller registry than an unwelcome one.
Acquisition enquiries
The Site offers a contact form for people looking to acquire an M5 CS. Submitting it starts a conversation and nothing more: it creates no agency relationship, no obligation on either side, and no offer or contract. Any transaction that follows is a separate matter, agreed separately, and subject to whatever laws and licensing apply where it takes place.
Using the Site
You're welcome to read, link to, and cite the Site. Please don't:
- Scrape or bulk-download the Site in a way that burdens it, or republish the registry wholesale as your own.
- Use registry data to identify, locate, harass, or contact vehicle owners.
- Use the Site for anything unlawful, or attempt to break, probe, or disrupt it.
Registry facts (VIN counts, colors, production numbers) aren't ours to own — facts belong to everyone. The Site's design, text, logo, and photographs are ours or our contributors', and are not licensed for reuse. If you want to reference our data in an article, video, or forum post, please do, with a link back.
Third-party links and services
The Site links to auction sites, dealer listings, and YouTube videos we don't control, and uses third-party services to function (see the Privacy Policy). We're not responsible for third-party content, availability, prices, or practices.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, M5CS.org and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the Site or its data. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (which is, for the Site itself, nothing) or USD $100.
Changes
We may update these terms as the project grows. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
Contact
Questions, corrections, and registry removal requests all go through the form below. We're a small project — you'll be talking to a person, and we'll reply to the address you give us.
